History of IPL
The idea of the IPL was first proposed by Lalit Modi, then Vice President of the BCCI, in 2007. The league was modeled on the English Premier League football tournament and aimed to provide a platform for talented Indian cricketers to showcase their skills alongside international players.
The inaugural season of the IPL was a huge success, with packed stadiums, high TV ratings, and an exciting brand of cricket that blended traditional cricket skills with modern-day tactics.
